BBQ 4 Life

For the past three or four days my brain has been consumed by the thought of smoking meat.
(thats what she said.)

Melt in your mouth brisket.
Fall off the bone ribs.
Juicy herb & butter slathered whole chicken.
Fish for people who are into that kind of thing.

In a perfect world, I would be outside RIGHT NOW using my own two hands to build a smoker in the backyard. I would literally turn trash(can) into treasure. There would be bolts littering the ground, the sounds of saws doing saw stuff lingering in the air, sweat on my brow, and most assuredly, welding.

In reality, however, I have no idea how to do any of that. So building a smoker from scratch will have to be my summer project to be undertaken with help from my padre and anyone else who wants to be apart of something magical.

In the meantime, I need a smoking fix.

So today marks my first ever attempt at smoking brisket...on a gas grill. The internet tells me this can be done and thats good enough for me. I just took my brisket out of the fridge and now its sitting for an hour before I put it on the grill for 4 hours with my maple smoker chips. Updates to follow...
